Welcome To COOYON's Cajun Cooking Blog

Hi Ya'll,

This is COOYON's Blog to keep everybody up at what is going on. Feel free to ask questions and comment on the blogs, request recipes or information.

While we can talk about pretty much anything here, we will keep this in the "PEE JEE" (PG RATED) catagory.

We can talk recipes, Cajun History, Cajun Culture, Cajun Foods, and Cajun Stories that are mostly true in nature. Not like the Boudreaux and Thibideaux jokes, but stories that amost always have a thought provoking content.

We can talk about differences of Creole and Cajun Foods and Culture and, if I can give you an answer, pretty much ask anything.

Hope ya'll come see me at the New Orleans Historic French Market. I will be doing Free to all, live Cajun Cooking Demonstrations on the weekends.

ENJOY,

COOYON

COOYON's Cajun Cooking Says Hello to All

Since I started to live in New Orleans 5 years ago, I have been getting asked for me to open a Cajun Place for food and the general atmosphere. I also have been getting asked for recipes and for me to help folks get some good Cajun Food from the Acadiana Area.

Hence,

I found a place in the New Orleans Historic French Market to feature just Cajun Foods and Cajun Products. All of the food products, canned goods and packaged goods are authentic Cajun Old Style and not a mixture of Creole/Cajun or New Orleans style food. I also have access to over 2500 Cajun Recipes that I am willing to share upon request. The Recipe List is extensive and for an example, there are about 15 different style Crawfish Etouffee Recipes. The good thing is, depending on your type of taste, one will be just great to you. While I do the original Crawfish Etouffee from the Iberia Parish Area and the recipe I use, and the etouffee has been featured in gourmet magazines, all the recipes are very good.

If you are wondering about Cajuns, the difference between Cajuns and Creoles, the difference in the foods, a little history or just "HEY COOYON, How Ya Doin".. that is all good things to send my way.

While the COOYON's Cajun Television Online Network Station is brand new and has only a few Cajun Cooking Demonstrations, I plan to include at least one new cooking demonstration one each week. Best way to find it is on www.cooyonscajuncooking.com on the "ABOUT" page at the very bottom. You can watch from there or go to the station by clicking the link just below the video widget embedded.

I hope to meet many, many people at the location in the French Market and feel free to ask the person at the front of store, if COOYON is available to say hi to. It would be a privilidge to say hello to ya'll..

SEE YOU AT THE MARKET!!!
